FREE Entry (by donation) Art Exhibition: Campbell River Art Gallery- Browse the wonderful & unique art on display, featuring a different artist every month! This January features the 36th Members Exhibition, Jan 25 - Feb 21. A community tradition that features the work of around 80 regional artists. Join us at the opening reception, Thurs. FREE Home Depot Kids Workshop: Free workshop just for kids once every month, a different project every time! This January they’re making a calendar! Workshop runs 10am & 11am. For ages 4-12yrs old. Kids go home with their piece of art, new handy skills, their own Home Depot work apron, and a certificate of achievement award!  Must have parent supervision. (Dates can vary, please phone ahead). Shopping in Campbell River: Pier Street & Shoppers Row are host to some of Campbell River's most beautiful & quaint boutique stores where you can find anything from ladies fashion, jewellery, antique stores, fishing supplies & goods, home & decoré, thrift stores, skateboard brandname products, a book store, and more, with popular cafés and restaurants nearby.  Also adjacent to Shoppers Row is the Tyee Plaza with many more popular shops, boutique stores, food and services.  Other popular shopping complexes include the Discovery Marina Mall, Walmart, Home Hardware, and Home Depot.  On the other side of town in the Willow Point area there is Willow’s Market on the Old Island Highway, and the new Timberline Village off of Hilchy Rd and another popular complex is on the corner of Dogwood St & Merecroft Rd to name a few..

Hockey or Skate Outside on a Frozen Lake: Echo Lake is usually the best for this, or surrounding  ponds.  Most suitable after a week of minus 0*C.  Always check depth first. Take the Gold River Hwy #28, 20mins south west of Campbell River, to Echo Lake. Don’t forget your puck!

“Life on the Spit”: the Photographs of Elizabeth Quocksister- Temporary exhibit on display Jan 15 - Mar 4. Showcasing what life was like for families living on the Campbell River Spit Reserve from the early 1940s to late 1960s.

FREE Petroglyphs: Find ancient petroglyphs during low tide at Nuyumbalees Cultural Centre (Weway Rd, Quadra Island) and at Tsa Kwa Luten Lodge (1, Lighthouse Rd, Quadra Island). 250.285.3733.

FREE Elk Falls Suspension Bridge: Hangs 64mtrs above the Campbell River canyon floor offering a top to bottom view of Elk Falls. Located 4km’s along Gold River Hwy 28, turn onto Brewster Lake Rd. Park in John Hart Interpretive centre parking Lot.  1.4kms walk to the falls. Wheelchair access.

FREE Campbell River’s FAMOUS Fishing Pier: CR Discovery Fishing Pier- One of Campbell River’s iconic landmarks. Although the Café & rentals are closed for the winter you can still walk out onto the 600ft pier. Great place for photos, or to watch industry tug boats & barges go by.  If you’re lucky you might even see a whale or a seal. Award winning wheelchair accessibility. After creating his artwork, he’ll simply leave it at a surprise location along the coastline waiting for local or tourists alike to stumble across it by surprise!  See if you can spot his latest one!
